The Australian Ballet has received a Helpmann Award for Best Dance Work for their production of Wayne McGregor's Chroma, for which Joby provided the score. The company opened the work in Sydney in May and in Melbourne in June.
Chroma, Joby's first collaboration with McGregor, has become one of the choreographer's most popular works and has blossomed beyond its home company to enter the repertoire of The Bolshoi Ballet, Boston Ballet, San Francisco Ballet, the National Ballet of Canada, The Royal Danish Ballet, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and now, the Australian Ballet.
