The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra Chorus will be performing ‘Léon’, the third movement of Joby’s 2005 à cappella choral work Path of Miracles, in a series of concerts in Bendigo, Geelong and Melbourne, Victoria, in late November/early December. The concerts, entitled Pilgrimage to Santiago, are an entirely à cappella celebration of centuries of pilgrimage to the relics of St James in Santiago de Compostela, Galicia, and the 400th anniversary of the death of Tomás Luis de Victoria. Alongside ‘Léon’ will be presented Renaissance music and a new work by English composer Gabriel Jackson. The dates and venues for each concert are as follows:
19 November, Sacred Heart Cathedral, Bendigo
20 November, St Mary’s Basilica, Geelong
2 December, St Patrick’s Cathedral, Melbourne
