Austin, Texas-based virtuoso choir Conspirare’s Company of Voices, led by Artistic Director Craig Hella Johnson, will will give the southwestern US premiere of Joby’s hour-long à cappella choral work Path of Miracles on 19 January at 7.30pm at St Mary’s Catholic Church in Fredericksburg, and on 20 and 21 January at 8pm, and 22 January at 3pm, at St Martin’s Lutheran Church in Austin. The work describes the ancient pilgrimage route across northern Spain to Santiago de Compostela — the supposed resting place of St James.
The performances will be preceded on 8 January by a talk by Lee Sandstead, former host of the Travel Channel’s “Art Attack” and a prominent US art historian, who will discuss his experience of walking the 600-mile Camino de Santiago de Compostela.
